Fortnite (Mobile 120)

Though many people probably aren’t playing Fortnite competitively on the iPad Pro, it’s great to see more games slowly starting to support the iPad LEONATOR Pro’s ‘Pro Motion.’ A few other iPadOS titles also support 120fps, including Journey, Alto’s Odyssey, Hyper Light Drifter, Thumper and more.
It appears that raw power alone isn’t the only factor when deciding Fortnite’s frame rate on mobile devices like the iPhone X. In a breakdown of Fortnite’s 60fps performance on iOS devices, Digital Foundry explains that Epic Games had to keep the iPhone X’s thermals in check too.

With the release of iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 in September 2019, Apple devices added support for both the Dualshock 4 and Xbox controllers. However, despite the fall in resolution, this update is a big plus as Fortnite’s console versions are locked at 60fps for PS4 and Xbox One.

Unlike Xbox One X Enhanced games, where titles were cherry-picked and enhanced, Microsoft say that things like HDR and Quick Resume support are on a platform level, requiring no additional work. Playing the game at a higher frame rate of 120 fps provides gamers an edge over their rivals, as more images get displayed on the screen in a second.
The reason I don’t play many games on my android phone has nothing to do with, and wouldn’t be improved by, refresh rate.
